Dear Future Husband

Dear Future Husband,

I hope you know, how glad I am to have you in my life. If you made me take the plunge, I am sure that you must be someone different, someone amazing and brilliant. Funny too. You add positivity and vibrancy in my life. That’s probably one of my favourite things about you. Needless to say, I adore your dark side too. Your flaws, your scars, those are the things that make you different, make you stand apart from the crowd. You are unlike anyone I have ever met before.

Perhaps, you are a traveller like me and we are busy planning our next trip together. Perhaps not, but thank you for not holding me back and letting me go wherever I want, whenever I want. Thank you for understanding that I am not an easy person to get hold of. Thank you for understanding that I am a poor conversation starter and I am glad that it didn't hurt your ego that you had to initiate it, every time.

Thank you for not giving up on me even when I must have driven you insane with my cold and detached behavior. Read it again. Twice.

Moving on, I hope you like anime, epic fantasy movies and rock music. Or maybe you are the total opposite of me and you introduced me to my next favourite genre of books, movies and music. I hope you don’t hate the ‘Middle Earth’ and ‘One Piece’ memorabilia, I have proudly put on display everywhere. Even if you do, don’t mention it. Take that secret to your grave. And thank you for encouraging my curiosity by having lengthy discussions on art, politics and everything that’s under that goddamn sun. I must have learned a lot from you.

And I sincerely hope that you get along well with my crazy, dysfunctional family and friends. We are a bunch of lunatics, but we take care of our kind well. You should be fine with us, hopefully.

I won’t bore you anymore, even though I have the legal license to do that, now. I will end this letter with a quote from Robert Fulgham, “We’re all a little weird. And life is a little weird. And when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall into mutually satisfying weirdness and call it love, true love.”

I am glad that I fell in love with you. Hope I get to know you soon.
